Intermodal is the largest event in the Americas for the cargo transportation, technology, logistics, intralogistics, and foreign trade sectors (Vanessa Rodrigues/AT) Amid growing pressure on global supply chains, Intermodal South America reaches its 30th edition, taking place between Tuesday and Thursday in São Paulo. The relevance of the meeting intensifies in light of recent developments in the conflict in the Middle East, which have increased risks in the Strait of Hormuz — responsible for the flow of about 20% of the world’s oil — and have driven a new surge in fuel prices. In Brazil, diesel has already recorded significant increases, with direct impacts on road freight rate tables. Another factor raising expectations for the sector is the agreement between Mercosur and the European Union (EU), signed after decades of negotiations. The treaty provides for the elimination of tariffs on more than 90% of bilateral trade, with provisional entry into force estimated for May 1. The measure is expected to boost Brazilian exports, especially in the agricultural and industrial sectors, by promoting the gradual reduction of duties, encouraging investment, and expanding trade cooperation between the blocs. It is in this context of global instability and shifting international alliances that Intermodal 2026 brings together CEOs, top executives, and experts to promote an integrated view of the supply chain in Brazil and worldwide, along with leading brands operating across air, road, rail, and maritime modes. Every year, the event brings together dozens of authorities and hundreds of representatives from companies in the sector (Vanessa Rodrigues/AT) Among the highlights of the 4th Interlog Summit program are speakers who bring complementary perspectives to the debate on the future of logistics and the global economy. One of the highlights is Marcos Troyjo, former president of the New Development Bank (NDB) and one of the key figures in the negotiations that led to the Mercosur–European Union agreement. In his presentation, “Geopolitics in Transformation: Redesigning the Global Economy and Supply Chains,” Troyjo is expected to analyze how increasing international fragmentation requires Brazil to diversify its trade partners and pursue a more strategic integration into global value chains. The list of speakers also features other inspiring and complementary perspectives. Former Olympic swimmer Thiago Pereira connects discipline, high performance, and resilience from sports to the corporate environment, while Ricardo Cappra — data scientist, technology philosopher, and founder of Cappra Institute — addresses how data, artificial intelligence, and human behavior can drive an analytical culture within organizations. Milton Pimenta, Latam managing director at Ceva Logistics, and Eduardo Camargo, CEO of Motiva Rodovias and vice president of the Associação Brasileira de Concessionárias de Rodovias (ABCR), contribute practical insights from those leading logistics operations and infrastructure in the country. How to participate Intermodal will be held at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo. More information and ticket purchases for visitors and conference participants are available on the event’s website. The event Intermodal South America 2026 will take place between next Tuesday and Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Distrito Anhembi, located at Avenida Olavo Fontoura, 1,209, in the Santana district of São Paulo. The exhibition will occupy an area of 55,000 square meters, featuring 500 national and international brands, 100 speakers, and 500 conference participants. Attendance is estimated at 45,000 visitors from 90 countries over the three days of the event. In parallel with the exhibition, the 4th Interlog Summit will be held, encompassing the Intermodal Congress and the National Logistics Conference, organized by the Associação Brasileira de Logística (Abralog). Experts and prominent figures from different fields will be present (Vanessa Rodrigues/AT)
