Among the courses is the Small Forklift Operator course (Alexsander Ferraz/AT) The Fundação Centro de Excelência Portuária (Cenep) signed a technical cooperation agreement with the City Hall of São Vicente to offer professional qualification courses focused on the logistics and port sectors. The initiative, formalized last Thursday, is part of the Projeto Conexão Porto-Cidades of Fundação Cenep and is primarily aimed at residents in situations of social vulnerability, professionals seeking reemployment, and young people entering the job market. Fundação Cenep is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering the classes free of charge to students, providing qualified instructors. Cenep’s activities will be funded by Autoridade Portuária de Santos (APS), as established in a 2025 cooperation agreement. The president of APS, Anderson Pomini, highlighted the social pillar that guides the relationship between the Port and neighboring municipalities. “The Projeto Conexão Porto-Cidades was created to transform latent potential into concrete opportunity. We need to expand initiatives that foster the social development of the entire Baixada Santista”, he stated. The mayor of São Vicente, Kayo Amado (Pode), emphasized the importance of the measure for local development. “The city needed to attract high-quality training, especially in the Área Continental. The Port brings many impacts, but we need to balance those impacts with more positive externalities”, said the head of the Executive. The project’s initial schedule includes the following courses: Immersion in the Port Ecosystem, Small Forklift Operator, Container Inspector, Work at Height (NR35), and Introduction to Port Management. The City Hall of São Vicente will be responsible for promoting the training programs, conducting the candidate selection process, and providing the spaces and infrastructure required for the classes. The project is a pilot program with a duration of six months.
